The Daily Beast gets it right! It is time to demand attention and change. With mandated health coverage for nearly all women, the focus must shift to exactly two things: preventing disease and preventing death from metastases. Period.
“We could screen every woman in the world, and we would not have stopped breast cancer. I am not saying to stop funding for screening; however, we cannot afford to make it a main focus.” –Fran Visco, National Breast Cancer Coalition
We need to demand transparency and real change to ensure that our breast cancer dollars are spent wisely.
The Media’s Pink-Ribbon Problem: Coverage Is Skewed, Study Says
A loud AMEN!
Indeed….we need to fund the breast cancer vaccine that is ready to go to trials now…it has been proven 100% effective in mice, and everything that works in humans, first worked in mice. We never did find a cure for Polio, but we did find a vaccine that prevents it. Time to get this thing funded. http://elynjacobs.blogspot.com/2012/08/preventing-breast-cancer-its-time.html
Thanks, Lori for sharing that article….. It’s one of the best pieces yet about all of this mess.
Beth… I’m thinking about you….
Elyn… Hi **waving from just east of you**
xoxox
Absolutely, Lori! Well said. I agree with Elyn that we need to put the funds into vaccine research. xoxo
Yes, M’am! Now you’re sounding like Dr. Susan Love!
There in, lives hope.
