Yesterday the Metastatic Breast Cancer Network posted about Komen’s latest ad campaign. You can find their post here: Stage IV Ad from Komen. The ad looks like this:
This is the first anyone can remember from Komen about Stage IV breast cancer, finally acknowledging that beyond screenings and early detection exists a world in which pink ribbons aren’t the order of the day, a world in which women wake up every morning fighting for their lives.
Is it lip service?
A change in direction?
Is Komen, finally, hearing our voices?
Time will tell, I suppose. As I said in my last post, I don’t think we can afford to lose Komen, so we need to stay in dialogue. I’d love to hear your thoughts on the new ad…and if you haven’t already done so, please sign the petition to Komen, and pass it along to others in your network!

SIGNED!
I think this is a definite step in the right direction for Komen. Let’s hope they continue to feature stage IV patients. I’ve signed the petition. xox
Signed…let’s hope they get the message!
